May 2024 Update - Dedicated Pages for Businesses

It's been an exciting start to the year with our launch in January 2024. Since launch, we created a separate Instagram page for Braiders Near Me to separate the brand from HfxExtensions and make it its own thing. Members of the community like @wannibraids and @_braids_by_tasha have been invaluable in helping us determine the direction to take the site and we had very positive feedback from stylists who are taking advantage of the platform! That being said, it wasn't without challenges, many of which we've resolved by God's grace as we double-timed on our bugfixes. We already released some of the fixes though some had to be released as part of version 2 to ensure stability. Thank you to @braidedbyeve for bringing some of their challenges to our attention. Now, let's go to what's in this new release.

New Features

• Profile pages - Businesses now have a dedicated page that can be viewed by visitors just like you would on Instagram. The format is braidersnearme.ca/pagehandle
• New user dashboard - the new layout will make it easier to navigate between your personal information as a user and information regarding your business. We've separated the user dashboard into 3 distinct areas to avoid confusion.
• Email confirmation for new signup - after addressing issues with our email setup, new users who register will now be required to confirm the creation of their accounts.
• General UI and UX improvements like notice messages auto-closing after some time, improved performance, helpful instructions in searches without braiders, etc

Fixed bugs and issues

• Fixed a bug where resetting passwords didn't send out the reset email link
• Fixed the issue where you couldn't update your account info without refilling the entire form
• Fixed issues where towns, cities or regions with multiple commas cause the site to crash
